Sugar Hill is located in Grafton County, New Hampshire. It is a small city, with spectacular mountain views from every room. The first settlers came in Sugar Hill in 1789, but the city was incorporated in 1962 in New Hampshire. In 1929 the Austrian Sig Buchmayer opened in Sugar Hill the first ski-school in the United States and Canon Mountain made for skiing' s first aerial tramway.
The name of Sugar Hill was given to the city because of a large grove of sugar maples in the hills.
Sugar Hill is a tourist resort because of its panoramic views from the Sunset Hill Ridge or the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Although Sugar Hill is remote and relatively untouched by usual tourists, the city has the flavor and the appearance of 19th century.
